In a high-stakes IPL 2025 match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Wankhede Stadium on April 27, LSG’s leg-spinner Digvesh Rathi dismissed MI opener Ryan Rickelton, who was in formidable form with a rapid 58 off 32 balls. Rathi’s breakthrough came at a crucial juncture, breaking a 55-run partnership and reducing MI to 88/2.
Following the dismissal, Rathi celebrated with his signature ‘notebook’ gesture—mimicking the act of signing a notebook.This celebration, while distinctive, has previously drawn criticism and disciplinary action from the BCCI. Earlier in the season, Rathi was fined 25% of his match fee for a similar celebration against Punjab Kings’ Priyansh Arya.
